everything you need to know to glide into your reformer class stress-free & confident:
first-timers:
-
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here!
Before class, you’ll receive an email to create an account & sign our waiver via our booking software, Mariana Tek. Do this prior to coming to the studio for a smooth entrance!
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before class for a brief reformer and studio orientation at your first class.
Bring your own grip socks, or purchase some in studio (grip socks required for safety & hygienic purposes).
—-
Please note: the studio does not have a washroom, but there is a public washroom in the Marketplace complex.
Parking is most amply available in the Whistler Marketplace lot.
-
We get it! The first class can feel intimidating, but you’re in great hands.
We recommend taking either our signature class, reformer or if you’re looking for a slower paced option and to learn the ropes at a more mellow pace, reformama, our pre & post natal/ injury rehab friendly option.
Our classes are built to support and challenge all of our clients wherever they are at. If it’s your first class, come 15 minutes early for a reformer orientation and to feel at ease during the class.
We are a supportive studio that wants to see you succeed and is here to help and encourage you every class!
-
Grip socks, clothes you feel comfortable moving in, and a water bottle are all you need!
We have grip socks at the studio available for purchase. Grip socks are required for safety & hygienic purposes.
-

Absolutely!

Great question!
The term “Pilates” can be confusing, as it is an unregulated term in the fitness world. Generally, when calling something Pilates, it is understood it will encompass and almost exclusively feature on the original (aka- Classical) repertoire created by Joseph Pilates. “Reformer Pilates” typically refers to the Pilates repertoire instructed on an apparatus called a reformer (as opposed to a mat, for example).
While you will experience some movement from the original Pilates repertoire in class, reform classes predominantly feature more functional fitness exercises on the reformer, specifically programmed for endurance activities.
As such, calling ourselves a “reformer studio” is more accurate than calling ourselves a “Pilates studio.”
